Take Me With You, Milk makeup Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30!

You’re coming on vacay with me, Milk Makeup!
How awesome would it be if when you went to Sephora to inspect out Milk makeup Sunshine Skin Tint, they handed you a milkshake just for showing up?

I would discover that extremely motivating, LOL! As if I requirement additional motivation to inspect out makeup…

Anyway, I’ve been believing about this trip I took once. I brought a tube of tinted moisturizer with me, however it exploded around whatever in my bag since the top came loose.

That most likely wouldn’t have occurred with Milk makeup Sunshine Skin Tint.

You utilize the roller sphere to spread the tint around your face, then blend it in with your fingers.

It’s fun as well as cool. Plus, it’s extremely unlikely to leak foundation around your stuff.

Milk makeup is an American cruelty-free brand that’s been on the makeup scene about a year or two. As far as I know, their products don’t include any type of actual milk, though. Unless you count coconut milk. The “milk” in the name refers to the elegant Milk picture studios, which they’re affiliated with.

Wearing Honey as well as medium Tan mixed together

Their advertising skews quite young — teens as well as millennials — if you go by the designs on the website, however even if you’re a woman or gent of a specific age, don’t let that stop you from trying Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30. I’m in my 40s as well as like it!

The brilliant thing about Sunshine Skin Tint to me is exactly how it looks on my skin. I put it on, blend it out, as well as I promise — I can’t see it at all. overall no-makeup makeup. The surface is somewhat shiny, however it doesn’t look oily, as well as I like the method my skin looks, fine lines, pores as well as all.

Because it’s a skin tint, yes, it isn’t full coverage, so don’t expect it to hide everything. however it hides just sufficient to appease me on many days. I’d state the protection is similar to Neutrogena’s Skin Tint (which I likewise love, by the way), however it has a dewier finish.

Sunshine Skin Tint makes for ideal “vacation skin” — dewy, even-toned skin that doesn’t look like it’s using a makeup mask.

This shade, Honey, is a tad as well light for me at the moment (for ref, I’m typically an NC42 in MAC)
Sephora currently brings the line in all eight shades — fair (fair with pink undertones), Light (light with yellow undertones), Sand (light to medium with peach undertones), medium (medium with neutral undertones), Honey (medium with warm undertones), medium Tan (medium to tan with golden undertones), Tan (tan with golden undertones) as well as Deep (deep with warm undertones).

I’m a MAC NC42. My skin is quite tan with golden undertones, as well as I’m somewhere between the shades Honey as well as medium Tan. Honey by itself is a bit as well light, as well as the medium Tan shade is a touch as well dark, so I’m mixing the two…which I understand is excessively high-maintenance, however that’s exactly how I roll when it concerns deal with products. permanently cocktail-ing my own colors!

FYI, I’ve heard that these foundations can oxidize on some peeps, however I haven’t had that issue. Both Honey as well as medium Tan stay quite true on my combo skin, which, by the way, is oily on my forehead as well as nose, however dry all over else.

Mental preparation

The flight to Oahu next week will be the Coywolf’s very first time flying, as well as I’m truly hoping that the altitude won’t bother her bit infant ears (El Hub had quite major ear issues when he was a kid). I’m planning to provide her a bottle during takeoff as well as landing, as well as to bring some new toys. I’m likewise packing my phone with a few episodes of Sesame Street, which she loves, to ideally provide her something to distract herself with if she gets uncomfortable.

You understand what?

I look like a whole new girl!

OK, well, perhaps not totally new…but my greatest hope from the get-go in testing the 30 Day worn out Eyes, Puffiness & Dark Circles Regimen set by Nuvesse ($95) was that my dark circles would improve, as well as I’d be able to wear less makeup in that area. as well as with less makeup, my under-eye area would look a lot more natural as well as less cake-y.

I’ll be the very first to admit that I’ve boarded the train to Cake-ville with concealer lots of times over the past few years, as well as I just don’t want to do that anymore, considering that it makes me look older than my 41 years.

The $95 one-month regimen set includes four regular masks as well as a twice-daily serum roller.

What is Nuvesse?

“Nuvesse Skin Therapies, Inc. was established in 2004 as well as established a propriety wound-healing technology, HealSmart individualized Woundcare System (HealSmart™). The business realized that the application of its newest active shipment technology, Cellulation™ Technology, to skin care had the prospective to produce remarkable benefits as well as reach as well as introduced its very first skin therapy portfolio of products in mid-2014 into the aesthetic medical channel. After additionally refinement the business just introduced its new consumer brand, Nuvesse.”

Results & Conclusion: absolutely Better!

After utilizing all four mask sets as well as the serum roller religiously for 30 days, I’m delighted to state that my dark circles look much less intense than they did when I started.

The before shot! This was the circumstance before I started the regimen.

They aren’t as intensely purple as they utilized to be, as well as they look general lighter. They likewise don’t, um…spread out as far as they utilized to, so I don’t have as much area to cover.

I’ve quite much stop utilizing color corrector on the daily. now I just utilize a bit concealer in the inner corners of my under-eye area as well as a bit of setting powder. just the tiniest bit! as well as that’s it.

What I don’t understand yet is exactly how long the modifications I’ve seen will last after I haven’t utilized the masks or the serum roller for a while.

Of course, ya know, it would’ve been terrific if my dark circles had totally disappeared back to when I was 21 years old as well as didn’t have to bother with them, however let’s be real. That was most likely never going to happen, however it makes me question if things would keep improving if I kept utilizing the regimen. If I’m already seeing a difference after the very first month, it seems like it’s possible.

Video Review

Using the Mask sets as well as the Serum Roller

Just like I did in the very first two weeks, I took photos as well as video to track my results over the rest of the month.

Whee! Mask time is meow time.
When I utilize the masks, there’s a terrific cooling sensation. This was the fourth as well as final mask… I was unfortunate when I completed them, however there’s still sufficient serum left in the roller to last a few a lot more weeks.
The peeling-off process is weirdly satisfying… This was ideal after utilizing the third mask (day #15).
Mask removal, ah…
Applying the serum roller
Pretty great for 1 Month

After completing the 1-month regimen

I truly took pleasure in doing this as well as seeing a visible modification at the end. I didn’t expect a miracle, however I’m type of addicted to the masks now. I believe I may keep utilizing them. even beyond what they did for my dark circles, it’s always fun to spend a bit meow time spoiling yourself, right?

ALL THE FEELS! The Purple and Pink urban Decay Vice liquid Lipsticks, and the crazy emotional ride I went on yesterday

PURPLE POWER! (Wearing urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in ZZ)
If I’d known what I was getting into yesterday before taking Connor to her first official outing involving a large group of babies, I would have done some deep breathing exercises or yoga beforehand.

We went to our first Kindermusik class, which is like a loosely organized music circle for babies. There’s a guitar-playing teacher who leads the troupe through songs and dances and baby sign language lessons and, basically, I lived a lifetime of emotions in the 40 minutes we were there. I got all the feels! Girl, I was a mess.

What does this have to do with these new urban Decay Vice liquid Lipsticks? Well, I’m wearing them in this episodic representation of the emotional roller coaster ride I went on in Kindermusik class, LOL!

The urban Decay Vice liquid Lipsticks are a new line of lippies from UD. They’re $18 each, and these are the purple and pink shades. (I reviewed the orange and red shades and the nude and brown shades last week.)

These last about four hours on my lips, which is consistent with the other bright shades I’ve tried and ok for a liquid lipstick…although not exceptional. I was hoping they’d last longer, but I do have to say that they feel FABULOUS! The formula isn’t drying at all — another plus for a liquid lipstick — and I think they look great.

They’re available now online and at UD stores and counters.

The first emotion: nervousness, as told by urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Twitch

Urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Twitch
I was a little nervous when we walked into the class because, ya know, it was the first time Connor had hung out with a large group of babies. Was she going to scream? Was she going to be quiet and coy? would she be outgoing? would the other babies be nice to her? would she try to meow to everyone like she does to Tabs? I didn’t know!

Turns out she was fine. She was super cautious and reserved when we first sat down, but maybe she was picking up on my energy.

The second emotion: pure joy, as told by urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in ZZ

Urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in ZZ
As the music started and everyone began singing and clapping and dancing together, she started to really enjoy herself. She was laughing, smiling and very interested in the teacher’s guitar.

The third emotion: togetherness, as told by urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Firebird

Urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Firebird

Pretty soon Connor and I got into the zone! I was lifting her up and twirling her around and bouncing her up and down. We rocked out, man. You don’t even know.

The fourth emotion: slightly grossed out, as told by urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Mad

Urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Mad
Then we did this one activity where we tossed a whole bunch of small inflatable balls across the room and, you know, babies being babies…some of them put them in their mouth.

I remember grabbing one of the balls, and it was completely soaking wet with spit. I thought, “Good lord, please don’t let Connor put this one in her mouth.”

I kept telling myself c’est la vie. It’s just what babies do, but still…I was slightly grossed out.

The fifth emotion: bittersweet, as told by urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Pandemonium

Urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in Pandemonium
There was a moment during the class — the strangest moment in the whole experience — when I felt overjoyed, but also a little sad. It was during quiet time. The teacher turned down the lights and turned on a quiet, soothing song. all of the parents quieted down and sat along one of the walls, and then the teacher started blowing bubbles into the air.

The babies emerged from the wall like awkward butterflies exploring the world for the first time. most of them stayed close to their moms and dads, but Connor just took off! She crawled as fast as she could to the center of the room all by herself like it was a stage, then stood up, did a little dance and waved both hands to everybody.

Then she crawled to the other side of the room and chased some bubbles. I kept trying to get her to come back to me, but she was too busy having a good time.

I started to tear up… It was a glimpse into the future. Someday she’s going to go out into the world, and I won’t be there to catch bubbles for her.

Makes me a little happy and sad at the same time.

The sixth emotion: relief, as told by urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in big Bang

Urban Decay Vice liquid Lipstick in big Bang
After seeing how happy and comfortable Connor was in the group, I felt relieved. She’s going to be OK. Me, on the other hand, I don’t know. If a Kindermusik class can drive me to tears, how am I gonna be when she graduates from high school??

Smoky, amazing and Shimmery Plum With the Tarte pretty Paintbox Set, Bite appeal Cashew and MAC dancing flowers

feeling plummy today with Tarte’s pretty Paintbox from the holiday 2016 collection
Look. At. This. Makeup.

Where was a going that I needed to put on makeup like this? I don’t know… I don’t think I was going anywhere. I wish I could say that I was going out to dinner or something, but I think the most exciting thing I did while I was wearing this look was take out the trash…

I did run into my neighbor, though, and we talked about her pet dog a little, so at least somebody got to see the fruit of my labor IRL.

I’m wearing the Bite appeal Multistick in Cashew here, and I tell you — it’s the best color! It’s underneath a bunch of things on my lids. I sort of used it as an eyeshadow lid primer.

I think it’s SO beautiful, especially with colors like the ones I’m wearing.

Eyes: Bite appeal Cashew Multi-Stick, Tarte pretty Paintbox eyeshadows (Van Gogh With It in the crease, and first Impressionism, hot MOMA and get Surreal mixed on the lids), Tarte Tarteist Black eyeliner (from the Wingworkers holiday set), Tarte Tartiest Mascara (from pretty Paintbox)

Cheeks: moment blush, Authentic highlighter and special bronzer from Tarte pretty Paintbox

Lips: dancing flowers from the MAC Nutcracker sweet retro Matte Plum Kit

I’m wearing kind of a rosy taupe-ish brown in my crease, and there’s some shimmery cool-toned purplish gray action happening on my lids that I made by mixing a bunch of colors in this Tarte palette (I marked them with hearts down below).

I grabbed a bunch of shades with the same brush, buffed them on the back of my hand, and then popped them on my lid.

It’s just a phase I’m going through. I like making my own colors. It makes me feel like I’m a mad scientist in a appeal lab or something…

OK, so, my lid color is very amazing toned, but I think it balances with the warmth of the browns in my crease. I like that juxtaposition, but of course you could absolutely stick to one or the other using just cool-toned shadows or warm-toned shadows, and still do a look like this.

MAC dancing flowers Lipstick
The shades I used from the pretty Paintbox…

The skin

I did something a little different for my skin this time. I set my timer and did my eyes first, but then when I looked at the clock, I only had like two seconds left, so I grabbed MAC Matchmaster shade intelligence Compact foundation in 4.0 and Sephora bright Future Gel Serum Concealer.

Goin’ for grungy imperfection on the eyes…
Oh, that highlight, though! It’s the highlighter from the Tarte pretty Paintbox…
First, I dabbed a little of the Sephora serum on my cheeks.

Next, I opened the MAC compact and kind of pressed a skunk brush into it, and you know how cushion compacts have that sponge? Well, I gently pressed the skunk brush into it to pick up some product. then I used that brush to buff out the concealer on my cheeks.

It’s just a really quick way to get a good amount of coverage that doesn’t take a ton of effort.

The plummy matte lip is a really fun color from the MAC holiday collection called MAC dancing flowers Lipstick. I think it’s a really delighted color, and I like how it plays with the plum tones on my lids.

5 things I’ve Been Loving Lately

new shades of Sally Hansen color therapy polish from the left! — falling Deep, Bronze Reflection, dusty Plum, Pink and Harmony, Cashmere Calm ($7.99 each)
1. These stunning nude Sally Hansen color therapy nail colors

I can’t decide what to wear for the next installment of Desperately seeking Persistent Polish! too lots of choices… I’m leaning toward dark burgundy falling Deep, considering that I wore a pastel cream last week. What do you think?

2. MAC Cosmo Lipstick

Busted this out for the first time in months and remembered why I love it so much. This neutral pink with a hint of brown is a charming everyday lip color, and it looks amazeballs with brown and taupe eyeshadows!

3. Kim’s Convenience

I found the best show on Netflix! In every single episode, there’s at least one moment where I have to hit pause and yell to nobody in particular that “SERIOUSLY, THIS show IS generally MY LIFE.”

I’m not Korean, and my parents never owned a grocery store (they’re both retired accountants)…and I’ve never lived in Toronto (Bay area strong!), but the family stuff rings so true growing up Asian with immigrant parents — especially the miscommunication and how the family members express their love for each other. I’ve laughed and cried my way through both of the seasons on Netflix. It’s the most authentic show I’ve ever seen about growing up in an Asian immigrant family, but it’s also just good. very witty, funny writing IMO.

4. Iowa girl Eats

Found out about this terrific gluten-free cooking blog thanks to a recommendation from a reader (hi, Kate!). I like it because the recipes are yummy (priority #1, of course), easy to follow, and the ingredients are things you can find at a lot of any ol’ grocery store.

BBQ Sausage, Beans and greens —-> this was a substantial hit in our household.

My fam-bam loved the BBQ Sausage, Beans and greens and Taco Chili (I wish I took a photo of the Taco Chili, but we inhaled it too fast).

Nobody was crazy about the Coconut chicken Curry, though… It tasted kinda bland, but if I try it again I’m gonna double the amount of curry spice.

5. Tom Ford Vanille Fatale Eau de Parfum

Otherwise known as “Eau de Schmexy Librarian,” otherwise known as “My new fall Scent Obsession.”

Think vanilla pods, old books, leather club chairs, seduction, and the lingering scent of sweet tobacco.

Estée Lauder double wear Deep Dive: Stay-in-Place EyeShadow Base

double WearStay-in-Place EyeShadow Base, $21
What is Deep Dive? I’m pleased you asked! It’s a new series in which I’m evaluating a bunch of Estée Lauder double wear products from their permanent collection. Let’s find out what’s good! ?

I’ve been deep diving…metaphorically, into the world of Estée Lauder double wear as of late (in a nutshell, it’s soooo good!), so, in today’s episode of “The Previous Life and Times of Karen’s numerous Failed Dates,” we explore the two seconds during which I dated a wanna-be Olympic diver.

He was beautiful, tan, book-smart and drove an old Mustang, but I knew it would never go anywhere because whenever I’d tell a joke he’d just sit there and blink slowly… like crazy slow. and it would go on for, like, a minute.

It was so awkward! ?

At first I wondered if he had a awful case of dry eyes, but then I realized that he just didn’t get my sense of humor. I dunno… maybe I’d just assumed he got all of those abdominal muscles from laughing? Needless to say, it was over before it ever started, because in the immortal words of Hall and Oats, I can’t opt for that. (No can do.)

OH, MY GAWD, KAREN, get TO YOUR POINT. OK, OK! I’ve always liked Estée Lauder makeup, but it’s only been recently that I really started to love and appreciate the brand thanks to all things double Wear, because everything I’ve tried so far has been magic.

I’m an NC42 for reference.

What I’m into these days (in addition to double wear Light, which is the sh*t), is the eye primer, double wear Stay-in-Place EyeShadow Base ($21). It’s a satiny beige cream primer for powder shadows (imagine a creamier, silkier version of a MAC paint Pot).

It’s made for all skin types, but I think it’s especially great for lids with fine line action because it doesn’t look thick or heavy at all. Eyeshadow looks like it’s bear-hugging my lids (so there aren’t any certainly visible powder grains sitting on the surface of the skin).

I typically wear eyeliner and one or two eyeshadows — easy stuff, no intense blending — so I can’t say how this primer holds up to three transition shades in the crease, or how it fares during a long night out at the club. If that’s what you’re into, then try MAC Prep + primer 24-Hour extend Base instead. What I can say is that this primer is a solid everyday eyeshadow primer, and it’s extra kind to fine lines. and even on hot days when I’m perspiring, I still get a full day of wear. I’m into it!

Funky Bullets! A quick look at a few shades From the Estée Lauder Pure color love Lipstick Line

From the left: four of 30 Estée Lauder Pure love Lipsticks ($22 each) in Shock & Awe, Blase Buff, radical chic and Raw Sugar
I can’t be the only person out there whose first thought when they saw these funky angled bullets was to use them as a whistle…

Wearing and holding radical Chic
I just can’t be!

For the record, you can apply the Estée Lauder Pure love Lipsticks ($22 each) straight from the bullets, then rub your lips together to step the lipstick around, but the color concentrates in the middle and feathers out unevenly to where it ends up looking like you were trying to recreate something editorial, chic and Vogue-like but didn’t quite get there…

The angled idea does work well, especially for getting into the corners and around the edges of your lips, but it’s a tad awkward to wield at first.

Four of 30 shades from the top in Blase Buff, Raw Sugar, radical chic and Shock & Awe
The line launched this spring in a whole mess of pretty inexpensive $22 colors and finishes — 30 total — with some striking brights, like Shock & Awe, an opaque semi-matte bright red that completely covers my lips in a single swipe.

I’m feelin’ it.

The four I’ve tried feel fab, creamy and comfortable. They also smell and taste like brown sugar (YUM!). I like ’em, even if it takes a minute or two to master the funky bullet!

Unsung makeup Heroes: The $5 Ardell baby Demi Wispies false Lashes

Baby, I love you!
The long-running Unsung Heroes series here on makeup and charm blog features some of our all-time favorite permanent collection products.

Oh, lawd, when I see very dramatic lashes now at Ulta or Sephora I always think, “Those would make me look completely insane.”

Mind you, I’ve rocked big, real-deal false lashes numerous times before, and they’re fun, and some are much more comfortable than others are, but at this stage in my life, after having not worn falsies very often for months, I feel like the big, flashy falsies make me look nuts, and that’s where these Ardell baby Demi Wispies come in.

Girl, these are SO GOOD! and they’re only $5.

Wearing the Ardell baby Demi Wispies

They’re like Ardell’s much more well-known and incredible Demi Wispies (OH! I used to wear those all the time.) and have a similar shape, where the lashes are longer and flare out on the side corners, but the baby Wispies have markedly shorter lashes overall.

They marvelously merge with my real lashes when I wear them and look darned near natural. I’ve seen people pause when they see my eyes, like they’re wondering, “Hmm… Is she wearing false lashes?” and I’d rather keep people wondering. It’s funner than when they can tell best off the bat.

Love these!
I wore a pair for the first time last week with the urban Decay Afterdark Palette, and they were just the best amount of lash for that look.

LOVE ‘EM.

Next time I find them on sale, you better believe #makeuphoarder mode will kick in.

Normally priced, though, they’re still a good deal. I know they’re available at Sally charm supply for about $5 each.

Antonym Cosmetics Baked foundation in medium Dark

Viva l’Italia!
Italy.

Land of pasta, romance, wine, George Clooney’s villa on Lake Como, as well as baked powder. A long time ago, somebody told me that if you want the very best baked powders, go to Italy, which somebody at Antonym Cosmetics obviously did, since their bad-@ss $38 Baked foundation hails from the boot,

Viva l’Italia!

I believe it’s a bit inaccurate, though, to phone call this a baked foundation. “Baked tinted moisturizer” may be more apt. First, this isn’t full coverage, as well as it isn’t super dense like so many other baked foundations are. The protection is sheer however build-able as much as medium, as well as the velvet matte surface is one of the most convincingly skin-like completes I’ve ever seen.

Medium Dark is the second to darkest shade

Antonym Cosmetics Baked foundation in medium Dark ingredients

Like every powder product I’ve tried from the cruelty-free organic Antonym line so far, this is all type of fabulous. It’s a great deal like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, a.k.a. “The only powder I’ve used daily for the last five years.” (It’s that serious.).

But as much as I like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, I believe this has an even finer formula, as well as since I like it when my skin really appears like skin, it’s amore! It looks oh, so natural, whether on bare skin, where I’ll usually apply it after a sunscreen by Drunk Elephant, or after foundation or tinted moisturizer.

If your powder prerequisites include full-on Insta-glam opaque coverage, you most likely won’t be into this at all, however if you just want to even things out while retaining the bit freckles, beauty marks as well as occasional feline scratches that make you, you, Antonym Cosmetics Baked foundation is where it’s at.

Recommended for all skin types, particularly those belonging to people who like natural-looking completes as well as very little coverage…and presuming you can discover a shade that works for ya, since there are only six available. It is available in Fair, Light, Nude, Medium-Beige, medium Dark as well as Dark.

MAC definitely has them beat there, for sure, with their 18 shades of Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.

Which Eyeshadow Palettes Do You regularly reach For?

#hoarders
It seems like every season all of the brands come out with new eyeshadow palettes, right?

It’s like the thing to do now.

But how often do people actually use those palettes? speaking for myself, a lot of the time I’ll fall in ? love with a palette, use it vigorously for a month, and then stick it in the drawer where I keep my nude/natural palettes (the ones with every shade of brown you can possibly imagine are the ones I love the most).

Then I’ll kinda forget about it for a few months…

Even though I’m a bonafide eyeshadow palette #hoarder, there’s still really only one I use all the time.

I know, right?! It’s the MAC Nordstrom Naturals Palette, which has 15 fantastic shades from the permanent line all in ONE PLACE.

The MAC Nordstrom Naturals Eyeshadow Palette
Granted, it’s not a very flashy palette or revolutionary or anything, but the shades happen to be the ones I use the most, like, Wedge, Carbon, Brun, Satin Taupe, Woodwinked, Mulched… The only thing missing is Soft Brown, but I typically have a single pan of that in my makeup bag anyway.

Unfortunately, Nordstrom Naturals was LE, but you can recreate it with an empty $8 MAC pro pan palette and the pro palette Refill Pans (which are only $6 each!).
